    10‑Day Itinerary: Alaska’s Inside Passage – Fjords of the Great Land Itinerary
    Route: Vancouver → Seward
    Ship: MS Roald Amundsen

    Day 1 — Vancouver, Canada

    Embark in vibrant Vancouver. Explore Gastown, Stanley Park, and the city’s coastal scenery before boarding MS Roald Amundsen. Evening safety briefing and welcome dinner as your adventure begins.

    Day 2 — Inside Passage (At Sea)

    Sail the legendary Inside Passage, a protected waterway lined with forested islands and towering coastal mountains. Watch for humpbacks, orcas, dolphins, and porpoises as you cruise north.

    Day 3 — Misty Fjords

    Enter the pristine, glacier‑carved wilderness of Misty Fjords National Monument. Weather permitting, explore by small expedition boats or kayak. Keep an eye out for black and brown bears, moose, eagles, otters, sea lions, and abundant salmon.

    Day 4 — Klawock (Prince of Wales Island)

    Visit the Indigenous community of Klawock, home to an important collection of Tlingit totem poles. Learn about local carving traditions at the heritage center while surrounded by dense rainforest and wildlife.

    Day 5 — Chatham Strait

    Explore the scenic bays and wildlife‑rich waters of Chatham Strait and Frederick Sound—known for exceptional whale sightings. Expedition landings and scenic cruising dominate the day.

    Day 6 — Saint George Island

    Discover remote Saint George Island, home to dramatic cliffs and vast seabird colonies. Conditions permitting, explore with the expedition team to observe marine mammals and birdlife.

    Day 7 — At Sea (Toward Gulf of Alaska)

    A relaxing day with lectures, wildlife viewing, and time in the Science Center as the ship sails toward the crescent of Prince William Sound.

    Day 8 — Valdez

    Arrive in the scenic port of Valdez, surrounded by snowy mountains and waterfalls. This fjord‑side community is known for wildlife, glacier views, and local Alaskan heritage.

    Day 9 — College Fjord

    Cruise into a glacier‑filled fjord named by the 1899 Harriman Expedition. Marvel at glaciers named after Ivy League institutions (Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth). Watch for calving ice and marine wildlife.

    Day 10 — Seward, Alaska (Disembarkation)

    Disembark in the small but scenic coastal town of Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Your expedition ends here with optional onward travel.
